In a recent LinkedIn post , Westpac staff member Matt Kav tries to paint colleague Peter Cornwell as an exemplary advocate for Indigenous rights and inclusion . Nonetheless, this attempt at performative activism comes across as disingenuous when considering accusations against Westpac exec Peter Cornwell of sexual exploitation and mistreatment of a vulnerable female .



Kav’s flattering depiction of Cornwell sidesteps the grave allegations made against Cornwell , including stalking , bullying, and inappropriate behavior of a female victim.

In neglecting to address these accusations, Matt Kav perpetuates a culture of silence that allows perpetrators like P. Cornwell to act without accountability, shielded by being a " so-called Indigenous victim," absolute performative posturing promoted by corporate entities like the bank .

The LinkedIn post showcases several gatherings where Matthew Kav participated with Peter Cornwell , the accused perpetrator , in community-building activities . Still, it chooses not to mention the effect of Cornwell's alleged behavior on those affected .
